Consultant pathologist post completion of academics (MBBS & MD (path)) from King Edward Memorial Hospital Mumbai established India House Path Lab in 1989.
In 2000, India House Path Lab made foray into the maritime sector by registering with & seeking approval of Directorate General Shipping (India), the regulatory body under the Ministry of Shipping. India House Path Lab subsequently empaneled with Indian maritime companies, ship management companies (domestic and international)
For Maritime companies India House Path Lab provides following services:

a) Pre-Sea and Periodic medical examinations as per Directorate General of shipping guidelines and in Medical Rules 2000, keeping healthcare of the seafarer as a priority.
b) Healthcare of seafarers: Mental healthcare Screening & treatment for Mental Healthcare and Substance abuse by qualified medical practitioner.
c) Emergency medical care of crew via a Medico Advise Module that provides medical aid and treatment advice to seafarers whilst on duty onboard ships; organizes repatriation; post repatriation hospitalization and treatment; and rehabilitation.
India House Path Lab's goals are to ensure to minimize shore-based consultations and to provide healthcare services to the maritime community.
